Activity Report: California Area Tribal Leaders Conference 2007
Contributed by: Just Move It - CA
Completed 3/21/07 with 40 participants
The Power to Prevent was the theme of the California Area 2007 Tribal Leaders Consultation Conference. The conference’s annual Fun Run/Walk on March 21 helped launch the second California JMI challenge.
Best Features:
To help jump start the crowd Pam Belgarde and the 4 KICKS Tae Kwon Do students provided an energetic demo. We had over forty participants and even a little drizzle did not get in the way of the fun! All participants earned a Just Move It California 2007 Challenge T-shirts.
Future Plans:
This second Just Move It - California Challenge is a virtual walk throughout California Indian Country, covering 4,581 miles or 9,192,000 steps! Incentives are available to support ongoing efforts of California's Tribal/Urban health programs, JMI partners. The challenge can be incorporated into established activities or used to start a new program. Last year over 21 T/U programs participated in the Just Move It - California Challenge and we look forward even greater participation this year.
