Program Purpose:
The purpose of our program is to educate our local children about diet, nutrition, physical fitness, self-esteem, and goal-setting. Our goal is to help our children become healthier, to teach them the skills to make good decisions about all aspects of their lives.

Program Key Features:
The Program Coordinators will start each session with short presentations about various topics (i.e. nutrition, diabetes education, self-esteem, goal setting, etc.). The students will wear pedometers throughout each physical fitness sessions (approximately 30-40 minutes). The number of steps taken during that time will be logged by the coordinators. The children will be introduced to many different types of exercise throughout the course of the program (i.e., walking, Rezrobics, jump rope, different types of dances, etc.). After attending a set number of sessions, each child will earn incentives.

Most Excited About:
We are most proud of our efforts to get more of our students to stay active, and helping them to explore the many ways that they can do that. These children are the future of our reservation, our home, and the tools that they are given through this program will help them to make good decisions in their lives.
