Program: Walk the Path - Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians

General Exercise
The name of our program is "Walk the Path/Defeat Diabetes (Bmose'Mye'we's Gipkinage' weshpe yaknoge'win). Participants will be walking a 414 mile virtual path. The path is connecting each of the six tribes-Grand Traverse Band; Gun Lake; Huron Band; Pokagon Band; Little River Band; Little Traverse Band. A log book will track each participant's activity and convert it to miles. The miles will be recorded on the virtual walking path. As the participant enters another tribal community, they are given a brochure. The brochure contains information on the tribes' history, creation teaching and pictures or graphics. The GTB participants will be completing the virtual walk on August 19, 2005 at Grand Traverse Band Powwow.Tribes Involved:
